My name is Kimberly Gregory. I have been a proud resident of District #5 for all of my 51 years. Married with 2 children and 3 beautiful grandchildren. I am the product of fishermen, farmers and foresters. I have worked for 35 years serving my public and volunteered in many capacities over the years. My most recent employment began 16 years ago at Lequille Country Store. I live my life as I maneuver my work, with gratitude, honesty and perseverance.

If elected, will you support taking the dispute with Valley Waste to binding arbitration?

At the most basic structure I would say that enough money and time has been spent on litigation.
Not knowing all the variables makes it difficult to give a proper answer.
How does this happen when an issue is before the courts?
Who would choose the Arbiter?
With all questions being answered and satisfied that the process would be efficient, effective and fair then I would be inclined to support the process of binding arbitration.

Annapolis County elects 11 councillors for a population of approximately 19,000. The councillors then elect a warden from amongst themselves. Total remuneration is $405,062.

Kings County elects 9 councillors for a population of approximately 49,000. Since 2016 a mayor has been elected by the population at large. Total remuneration is $392,688.

1) Do you support a review of the number of councillors required for Annapolis County? Absolutely….Yes

2) Do you support having a mayor elected by the population at large? Absolutely….Yes

What ideas or plans do you have for constructive community engagement?

It is my intention to put out an online news letter to everyone with internet service. To mail it to those who do not and to have phone calls with seniors who may be often shut in. Prior to each meeting, before a vote I will reach out to random community members to get feedback on the issues tabled so as to attend the meeting with my district backing my vote.

What do you see as the top three priorities for Annapolis County, and how do you plan to address them?

● Full disclosure of municipal spending.
● Transparency in Council business.
● Lack of High Speed Internet
I see these issues as requiring a collaborative effort among all council members to assess the past and move forward to bring about change. As we are all concerned and desperately want change I see these issues as being tabled promptly and intend to work hard to realize a bright future.
