Born in Ottawa, Ontario, I’ve lived in several cities in Canada throughout my life and love calling Annapolis home.

My wife, Louise and I live with our 20-year-old cat Jade where we love to cook and share meals with friends. We believe in protecting the environment and helping to heal the earth.

I have been a Master Printer, an A grade shoe repairman, a supervisor, national training manager, a postie and a business owner. My passion is teaching and playing music.

I’ve recently retired from Canada Post in Wolfville and enjoy running our globalstrings music store here in Granville Centre.

If elected, will you support taking the dispute with Valley Waste to binding arbitration?

No. I will not support arbitration. As a former Canada Post employee, I have been through more than a fair share of them. I feel the arbitration process does not serve anybody well. I believe we can work within the council to resolve this Valley Waste dispute so that it would make sense to all parties involved.

The lack of rural internet has been a pressing issue for over 15 years and while there are some concrete signs of preparation for some new installations, there still remains a number of County residents who will not be afforded the same level of internet service when it is all said and done.

If elected, can you commit to advocating for the same level of service for all residents, including “final mile” residents? Yes or No

YES! – Residents of Annapolis County have suffered from terrible internet for far too long. I believe every home deserves and has the right to the best service available and will relentlessly advocate for it.

Annapolis County elects 11 councillors for a population of approximately 19,000. The councillors then elect a warden from amongst themselves. Total remuneration is $405,062.

Kings County elects 9 councillors for a population of approximately 49,000. Since 2016 a mayor has been elected by the population at large. Total remuneration is $392,688.

1) Do you support a review of the number of councillors required for Annapolis County? YES. I strongly support a review of the number of councillors.

2) Do you support having a mayor elected by the population at large? YES. I have always believed that it is the peoples right to choose their elected officials in all capacities.

What ideas or plans do you have for constructive community engagement?

I openly welcome and enjoy community engagement and plan on keeping the residents of District 4 involved in all of the council procedures. My phone number, email and official office at Globalstrings Music store in Granville Centre will always be open to residents for any questions
and concerns they may have or any thoughts they feel need to be addressed at the council.
I also intend to inform residents of council activity via a monthly newsletter and social media. I plan to keep District 4 Residents informed and up to date on County initiatives regularly.

What do you see as the top three priorities for Annapolis County, and how do you plan to address them?

Valley Waste Mismanagement:

I firmly believe we need to make every detail of this business transaction transparent to the constituents, Hold Public Forums and Town Hall Meetings to discuss our options, make our decision and clean this up.

The Internet Non-Service:

Once again, I believe the constituents need to be aware of every detail of this transaction. I think transparency and conversation will provide us with a logical solution for the county.

The Gordonstoun School:

I believe this may be a done deal. If so, I would present to the council that we do our best to keep the contracting of jobs local and all related monies/expenses transparent.
